Hello Friends,
This cute little sign is the second in a series of posts featuring craft/decor ideas with a farmhouse coastal theme. I just love the melding of the two styles especially for summer decorating; the weathered look of driftwood and barn wood, the blue of sea glass and mason jars, the whiteness of seashells and shiplap, the neutrals of sand and burlap.
This project is fairly simple to create. I took a discounted Easter sign from Dollar General and made it over into a sign with a coastal vibe. So follow along to see just how I did this.
Supply list
- small Easter sign from Dollar General
- wooden Relax cut-out from Michaels
- starfish embellishments from Dollar Tree
- Waverly plaster chalk paint
- Mondo Llama smooth sea glass paint (from Target)
- glue gun
The Easter sign already had a bead and twine hanger so I just left it on there. The first step was to paint the sign white to cover up the Easter message.
It took three coats to cover the wording completely with some dry time in between.
Then I gave it two coats of the smooth sea glass paint. I just love that COLOR!
I painted the Relax wood cut-out with a little white paint. When all of the paint was dry, I glued all of the pieces together using my glue gun. EASY-BREEZY!
I’m LOVIN’ the look of this little sign with the coastal-farmhouse VIBE! I can’t wait to start the next project. I hope I’m giving you some useful ideas for decor projects and inspiring you to try out the farmhouse coastal look.
