Hello Sweet Friends,
Today I will be showing you how to create these beautiful coffee filter roses. Each coffee filter rose was so easy to create that once I got started, I just went crazy and made a bunch of them.
In my previous post, I showed you how to make roses out of cupcake liners. Read that post here: cupcake liner roses. This tutorial is very similar, but I thought I just as well make a separate post.
Follow along and I will show you just how EASY it is to make these beautiful roses.
Supply list for one coffee filter rose
- three coffee filters per rose
- paint (optional)
- scissors
- glue gun
- straw, skewer, or small dowel rod

The first step for this project was to color my coffee filters with a little instant coffee. So I mixed some instant coffee in a bowl of water, submerged the coffee filters for a few minutes, then spread them out on a flat surface to dry. I probably should have just used the natural, unbleached coffee filters, but I used what I had on hand,

After letting the coffee filters dry overnight, I was ready to begin.
Each coffee was folded in half, then in half two more times.

Cut a rounded edge onto each coffee filter: also cut a small bit from the corner. Then open all three coffee filters; they will look like an eight-petal flower.

Cut a one petal section from one of the filters, a two petal section from a filter, and a three petal section from the third filter. See picture below.

Let’s finish up
For the next step, the straight edges of each section need to be glued together. The single petal section should be rolled and secured with a dab of glue.

Starting with the largest to smallest, glue the flower sections together, one inside the next. Keep glueing together until all six pieces are assembled.

Then using a skewer or straw, curl back the edges of each petal.

And LOOK how beautiful these roses turned out! WOWZA!

And I’ll give you a sneak peek at how I will be using some of these beauties in my next post!

I hope this DIY idea inspires you to create something beautiful for your home.
Until next time…….. Happy crafting!
Pamela
