Hello Sweet Friends,
Today’s craft project will have your friends GREEN with envy! I created a St. Pat’s Tree using a Dollar Tree mini Christmas tree and I will be showing you just how I made it.
I’ve created similar decorated mini trees before and I’m using the same technique for this one. The only supplies really needed are a variety of green/white ribbons and a Dollar Tree mini Christmas tree. So without any delay, let’s get started.
Supplies needed
- Dollar Tree mini Christmas tree
- variety of white and green ribbons
- green and white pompoms, optional
- scissors
- embellishment for tree top, optional

I started with a mini tree from Dollar Tree, (it was left over from Christmas). I unboxed it, laid it flat on the table, and separated the branches into rows as pictured below.

Next, I gathered up several rolls of green and white ribbons of varying widths. There were quite a few rolls in my craft stash, so I did not purchase any new ribbons. Actually, none of the ribbons were specifically for St. Patricks Day, but I thought they worked out just fine.

I cut pieces of ribbons and tied or attached them to the center post of the tree. I used five or six lengths of ribbon in between the rows. It will look like a hot mess, but just keep going.

The final step was to shape the tree and trim the ribbons. I bent the tree limbs and ribbons into a downswept shape. After I liked the shape, I trimmed up some of the ribbons. A few pompoms and an embellishment for the top of the tree is optional.

How stinkin’ CUTE did this tree turn out? I couldn’t be happier with it!

If you want to take a look at some of my other mini trees, check out my mini peppermint tree here or my mini fall tree is found here or my mini valentine tree here.
I hope I’ve inspired you to give this idea a try! Put your own spin on it! Create a mini tree for every holiday!
Until next time…..
Happy Crafting!
Pamela
