Hello Friends,
Sometimes I have spent hours looking for that perfect printable or online image for a craft project. Then I realize I can find some of the perfect images right in the greeting card section of my local Dollar Tree. That’s just what I used for this quick and easy DIY project. Follow along and see just how easy it is.
Items needed for this project
- greeting card
- frame
- napkin
- paint
- glue gun
- scissors
I purchased the greeting card and frame from the Dollar Tree. I love the vintage Halloween look of this card. The napkin I used for the background is from the MacKenzie-Childs website.
I began this project by separating the glass and back from the frame, and then painting the frame white. I used spray paint, but chalk paint or any acrylic paint would be fine to use instead.
Next, I dry-brushed some antique wax lightly on the frame.
For the next step, I cut the napkin to fit the back of the frame. I also cut the front of the card from the back making sure to cut as straight as possible.
I lightly glued the corners of the napkin to the back of the frame. Then just put a dot of glue in the center and placed the card in the center of the napkin.
And placed the glass and back into the frame. The glass will help keep the card and napkin background in place. I added a messy bow for embellishment.
I am just loving this quick little DIY project. How CUTE is this?? And it was so easy and budget-friendly. I hope I’ve inspired you to make something similar for yourself.
