Hello Friends,
I’m here to bring you a super-easy DIY Christmas banner. It is created mostly from Dollar Tree items; so, of course, it is a budget-friendly craft, too. Simple and budget-friendly; you can’t get much better than that for a craft project. So gather ‘round the craft table and I’ll show you how to create this cute little Christmas banner.
Supplies needed for banner
- 2 – 3pc Christmas treat bags from Dollar Tree
- twine
- beads
- scissors, glue gun
- small ribbons for embellishment (optional)

To begin this project, remove the drawstrings from the treat bags. Then separate the front and back sides by cutting/ripping down the side seam.

Next, cut the front and back apart. Cut the bottom of both pieces into a V. Retain the top part where the drawstring was attached because you will use the “pocket” to thread the twine through.

Trim down the sides, removing the creases left when you ripped out the side seams.

Repeat these steps with all three treat bags. You will have three pieces with an image and three plain.

Repeat these steps for the other three treat bags. You you will have six pieces with images and six plain.

Begin running a length of twine through the top “pocket” of each piece, adding a bead in between each piece.

Keep going adding a bead, then a banner, bead, banner, etc. I alternated each piece as a went. I only used a total of seven pieces to create my banner. I knew exactly where I was going to display it and how much room I had for it. The banner could be made longer or shorter according to your needs.

Adding a piece of ribbon for an embellishment is optional. I alternated two different kinds of ribbon for added interest, attaching with hot glue. The ribbon also helped to camouflage the seam.
