Nothing can replace beautiful fresh red roses for Valentine’s Day, but if you love Valentine decor for your home, I have just the thing for you. I will describe step-by-step how to make this arrangement of beautiful silk roses. If you’d like, gather up your own supplies and follow along.
Supplies needed for DIY Valentine Rose Bouquet
- one silk red rose bush
- one white filler flower bush
- one greenery bundle
- two Valentine heart picks
- floral foam
- vase or container of your choice
- roll of red ribbon
- wire, scissors, glue gun, wire cutters
The florals and ribbon all were from Hobby Lobby.
I chose a white metal pitcher for a container to make my red rose bouquet. The block of floral foam I purchased was just the right size for this container. (Otherwise the foam would have to be trimmed to fit the size of the container.) I glued the foam to the bottom of the container to make it more secure.
The silk red rose bush I am using has fifteen roses, instead of a dozen, but who’s counting? I added it right in the center of the pitcher. I did not separate the stems but used it as one piece. Then spread out the roses until I like how it looked.
The next step is to add the silk white filler flower bush in the center. I put it right next to the center of the rose bush. Then I spread out the individual white flower stems mixed among the roses until I liked the way it looked.
Then I added the shooting heart stems, one on each side of the arrangement.
Before adding the silk greenery, I separated into individual pieces.
I then added the individual stems to the bouquet on all sides near the opening of the pitcher.
The final step is adding a bow. I made a simple bow out of some sheer red ribbon.
This type of ribbon does not have a “front” or “back” side so its a little easier to make a simple bow with. Just loop the ribbon back and forth four or five times, leaving the ends a little long for streamers. Hold together in the middle of the ribbon.
Wrap a wire around the center of the bow.
Then fluff out the bow until it has a good shape.
The final step is inserting the bow into the rose bouquet.
And the gorgeous rose bouquet is finished. I just love how it looks on my table.
I hope I’ve inspired you to create a rose bouquet of your own.
Wishing you a Happy Valentine’s Day!
Happy Crafting!!!
