Hello Sweet Friends,
Today’s craft idea is a Dollar Tree bottle cap Easter craft. It features a galvanized metal bottle cap from Dollar Tree and a paper Easter napkin. That’s the two main supplies for this DIY; and it’s amazing to see what CUTENESS can be created with these two items.
If you have been following me for a while, you may remember another Dollar Tree bottle cap idea I shared using a winter gift bag. You can check it out here. Or a DT bottle cap idea for fall can be found here.
Not only is this DIY quick and easy, it is also very budget-friendly. I hope you enjoy this craft idea as much as I do. So let’s get started!
Supply list
- Dollar Tree bottle cap
- Easter paper napkin
- white paint
- Mod Podge
- small paint brush
- iridescent glitter
- small Easter embellishments
- glue gun
- small iron and parchment paper, optional
To begin this project, I removed the twine hanger from the bottle cap, and saved it to re-attach later. Then I painted a coat of white chalk paint to the inner part of the bottle cap. When using napkins in crafting, I find that it is always best to have a white base coat.
Next, I separated the napkin, keeping only the piece with the image on it. And then cut the image to fit the bottle cap.
After applying a coat of Mod Podge, I placed the napkin and gently pressed onto the bottle cap.
I used a small crafting iron and parchment paper to smooth out a few wrinkles. This step is optional.
Then I added some iridescent glitter by using Mod Podge around the image and sprinkling the glitter.
The final step was to add embellishments. Using a hot glue gun, I added some foliages and small eggs as well as a few small florals. Then re-attached the twine hanger.
And LOOK how very cute the finished piece is! So ADORABLE!
I just LOVE this piece. There are countless ways to display it in your home. Hang it, use it as a shelf sitter, on a tiered tray; even as an ornament on an Easter tree (if you decorate a tree for Easter).
I hope I’ve inspired you with this sweet little project and that you will be able to use this idea to create something beautiful for your home.
Until next time….. Happy Crafting!
