Hello Sweet Friends,
I’ve got another awesome DIY craft for you today, created from a 2021 Dollar Tree calendar page. The DT calendars have been very popular lately for craft projects. That’s twelve craft-worthy images for only $1, so I understand why they disappear so quickly from the shelves. So follow along to see what I created with the November calendar page.
Items needed for Calendar Page Sign
- Calendar image
- Dollar Tree square sign
- two large paint sticks
- wooden beads and waxed thread or twine
- assorted ribbon and other embellishments of your choice
- white paint, mod lodge, and brush
- sanding block
- glue gun

I began this project by removing the twine hanger from the Dollar Tree sign. Then I turned it over and using the back of the sign, I painted two coats of white paint on it. I used chalk paint, but any acrylic paint will do.

After the paint was dry, I applied a VERY light coat Mod Podge over the entire surface of the sign.
Then I apply the calendar page, centering it as much as possible and smoothing out any bubbles.

Once the Mod Podge was dried, I used a sanding block to “sand” off the narrow edges of the paper that hung out over the edge of the sign. I also started to string beads on some waxed thread to make a hanger.

Then I cut the two paint sticks to a size that looked good to me, slightly longer than the width of the sign.

Using a hot glue gun, I glued one paint stick to the top of the sign and the other to the bottom. Then I attached the wooden bead hanger, again using hot glue.

The final step was to embellish the pumpkin with a messy bow, berries, and a button.

Oh my gosh, how cute is this sign? I just LOVE how it turned out. You know I love neutrals! I think this sign could be used to decorate your home up until Thanksgiving.
