Hello Sweet Friends,
I’ve been working on many fall craft projects lately and I LOVE them all. But I’ve noticed sometimes the simplest and easiest crafts are the ones I end up liking the BEST! I love the fact that it takes so little time and end up with a super cute decor piece that can be used year after year. And SO, that is the case with today’s craft idea. I took one of those foam pumpkins from Dollar Tree and gave it the quickest makeover EVER! Follow along and see just how to do it for yourself!
Supply list
- Dollar Tree foam pumpkin
- scarf or other desired fabric
- 3 corks or other item for stem
- ribbon and other embellishments
- X-acto blade
- scissors
- glue gun
Another reason I like this craft idea so much is because I was able to use a scarf that was destined to go to Goodwill. Yep, I “shopped” my own closet for the fabric to cover this pumpkin. I thought, “You know, I could make something CUTE out of that!” And so, I did.
Begin this project by cutting a hole around the stem with an X-acto blade. Remove the stem and dispose. Then center the pumpkin on a large square of fabric. (I had to cut my scarf down to a square shape. I also used two layers of the fabric, so the white wouldn’t show through it.)
Beginning with one corner of the fabric square and tuck into the center of the pumpkin. Then do the same with the opposite corner. Continue until all four corners are tucked into the pumpkin.
Add the stem next. If using corks, glue three end to end, and place into the pumpkin center.
Glue leaf, ribbon, or any other embellishments to the pumpkin.
And this super CUTE pumpkin decor piece is finished, LICKETY-SPLIT!
I am VERY pleased with how this pumpkin turned out, AND how easy it was to create. It literally took ten minutes to make.
Just LOOK how cute it is!
I hope I’ve inspired you to give this FUN idea a try this FALL. Get creative and have fun with it! So don’t delay. Get to crafting!
Until next time…..
