Easter Egg Pedestal with Florals

You are here: Home / Floral Crafts / Easter Egg Pedestal with Florals

Hello Sweet Friends,

Today’s DIY is inspired by my previous post, Let’s Create an Easter Egg Pedestal. It was basically a Dollar Tree Easter egg on a candlestick/pedestal, with a little bit of embellishment. But for this project, I will also be adding florals; thus I am calling it an Easter Egg Pedestal with Florals.

In my opinion, adding florals to just about anything, just makes it prettier and more appealing. So that’s just what I did for this DIY. And, of course, spring is the PERFECT time to start adding flowers to my DIY and craft projects.

So, gather around my craft table and follow along, as I show you, step-by-step how to create an Easter egg pedestal with florals.

Supply list

  • Dollar Tree Plus decorative Easter egg $3
  • wood candlestick (thrift find)
  • white paint
  • hot glue gun
  • E6000 glue
  • round foam (got mine at Dollar Tree)
  • various faux florals and foliages
  • wire cutters
  • moss

To begin this project, I first painted the wooden candle holder with Waverly chalk paint in the color plaster. It took a few coats for good coverage with dry time in between.

Then using a combination of hot glue and E6000 glue, I attached the foam to the base of the egg.

And, again using a combo of hot glue and E6000, I attached the egg+foam to the candle holder.

For a very secure hold, it is probably best to give the E6000 a little time to dry, but since I used hot glue also, I moved onto the next step. And that was adding the florals.

Most of the florals I used were from Dollar Tree and Walmart. Before adding them, I separated each individual bloom, cutting them very short using wire cutters.

Then I simply began adding the short faux blooms into the foam, surrounding the egg. I also added a little spot of hot glue at the base of each flower to make it extra secure.

The wispy flowers and foliage were next. I again cut them into individual stems before adding them to the foam. The stems were placed into the empty spaces between the other flowers.

Once all of the flowers were added, I glued some moss to cover up any foam that was still showing. This project went together so quickly and I thought it really turned out CUTE!

Can you believe how PRETTY the finished piece looks? Wouldn’t it make a beautiful centerpiece for Easter? Or displayed on a shelf or side table?

I loved making this so much that I made two more of them with different eggs and florals. WOWZA!!

Which one is your FAVORITE? I really can’t decide.

I hope you’ve been inspired by this DIY and will try to create something similar for your home this Easter.

Until next time….. Happy Crafting and Happy Easter!

Meet Pamela, the Creator

Pamela, Creator

Born and raised in rural, Missouri, I'm a wife of 30 years and mother to one adult son.

My interest in all things artsy-craftsy began as a young girl. If there was a craft kit for it, I've probably tried it: paint-by-number, latch-hooking rugs, candle-making, shrinky-dinks, string-art, etc. I loved them all! For many years I was able to express my creativity on-the-job as a florist, and love using silk florals in my home decorating projects.

I'm excited to share my crafting and home decorating ideas with you. I like finding that perfect thrift store item and crafting something new out of it, or giving that old piece of furniture a new life with a fresh coat of paint. I hope my projects will inspire you to get craftsy and create things to help decorate a home you love.

Happy Crafting!
