Hello Sweet Friends,
I have a unique idea for a wreath to share with you today. The Easter decor on the wreath is not the unique part but what the wreath is actually made of. I like perusing the local Dollar Tree and using common everyday objects in a new way for craft projects. And that’s how the idea for this wreath came about. So follow along to see how I incorporated a steering wheel cover into my Easter wreath.
Supplies needed for this project
- steering wheel cover (from Dollar Tree)
- 9.8 inch wreath form (from Dollar Tree)
- Easter truck (from Dollar General)
- ribbon
- assorted florals and greenery
- small Easter eggs
- white pipe cleaner
- glue gun
- scissors and wire cutters
Begin this project by stretching the steering wheel cover onto the wreath form.
Glue the steering wheel cover to the outer edge of the wreath form first; then glue to the inner part of the wreath form.
It was a little more difficult for me to glue on the inner part of the wreath form. I had to hold the steering wheel cover in place until the glue was dried. Or it would become loose.
The wreath is now ready to add decor.
Begin by creating a bow with your choice of ribbon, using a white pipe cleaner to tie it off.
Attach the bow to the top of the wreath using the pipe cleaner, wrapping the ends of the pipe cleaner around to the back of the wreath and twisting together.
Using wire cutter, separate the florals and greenery into individual stems. Glue individual stems to the top of the wreath around the bow.
Keep adding greenery and florals until you are pleased with how it looks.
Glue each stem shooting out from behind to bow.
Remove the wire hanger from the Easter truck and glue onto the wreath.
Almost finished! Glue a few small Easter eggs to the center of the bow.
I am just so pleased with how CUTE this wreath turned out!
I hope I’ve inspired you to get creative and unique with your holiday and home decor.
