Hello Sweet Friends,

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly way to add a little Valentine charm to your home decor, this craft is PERFECT for you. Follow along for all of the details.
Supply list
- Dollar Tree tray
- DT wood heart ornaments
- DT wall tile
- scrapbook paper
- ribbons and embellishment
- white paint
- brown paint
- paint brush
- scissors
- glue gun
- Mod Podge
The first step in this project was to cut out two small hearts out of some of the Dollar Tree tile. I had some scrap pieces of the wall tile that worked perfect for this DIY. Using the DT wood ornament for a template, I traced and cut out the two small hearts. (The “Love” ornament came in a pack of 6 from Dollar Tree).
Then I painted the tray and the three hearts with Waverly chalk paint in the color plaster. Once the paint had dried, I dry brushed some of the Waverly antique wax to give everything an aged, vintage look.
After cutting a piece of scrapbook paper to fit the tray, I applied Mod Podge to the tray and pressed the paper into place. Once it was dry, I hot glued the three hearts into the tray.
Embellishing the Easy Dollar Tree Valentine Craft
At this point, the only thing needed were some embellishments. So I tied a bow out of coordinating ribbons and a strips of neutral fabric. Most of the ribbons I used were from Walmart.
I also tied three small bows for the three hearts.
And once everything was glued together, it turned out so BEAUTIFUL! I love, love, love it!
Seriously, this was just so EASY and affordable to create! I really hope you can take this idea, tweak it a little, and create something beautiful for your home.
Until next time……. Happy crafting!
XOXO Pamela
