Four Ways to Repurpose Glass Light Shades

You are here: Home / Budget-Friendly / Four Ways to Repurpose Glass Light Shades

Hello Sweet Friends,

For today’s DIY project, I will show you FOUR ways to repurpose glass light shades. Since my aunt gave me four glass light shades from an old fan light, I’ve come up with four quick and easy ways to repurpose them into other home decor pieces. You may have already seen my four individual posts, but I decided it was a good idea to put all four ideas in one post for easier access.

They say that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and I believe that to be true. It is certainly TRUE in the case of these light shades. Follow along for some GREAT repurpose ideas!

Pictured above is a BEFORE photo I snapped of the original bubble glass light shades. They were just too pretty to dispose of, so my aunt thought I might be able to use them in my crafting. So that’s just what I did.

The light shades got a good cleaning with hot soapy water. And then it was time to get CREATIVE!

The first DIY project was a hanging solar light for my back porch. It was VERY easy to create! You can find the simple instructions here.

The second light shade repurpose project was a DIY vase. It is such a versatile decor item that can be used year-round. All the details on how to create this vase can be found here.

Next up is a DIY cloche. How CUTE is this idea? The cloche or dome is probably my favorite out of the four ideas. Again, it’s so versatile, it could be used year-round. The DIY instructions can be found here.

The fourth and final project is a DIY vase. It’s another quick and easy piece to create. More details can be found here.

So that’s FOUR easy DIY projects for light shades. Which one is your favorite? Let me know.

Until next time…..

Happy Crafting!

Pamela

Meet Pamela, the Creator

Pamela, Creator

Born and raised in rural, Missouri, I'm a wife of 30 years and mother to one adult son.

My interest in all things artsy-craftsy began as a young girl. If there was a craft kit for it, I've probably tried it: paint-by-number, latch-hooking rugs, candle-making, shrinky-dinks, string-art, etc. I loved them all! For many years I was able to express my creativity on-the-job as a florist, and love using silk florals in my home decorating projects.

I'm excited to share my crafting and home decorating ideas with you. I like finding that perfect thrift store item and crafting something new out of it, or giving that old piece of furniture a new life with a fresh coat of paint. I hope my projects will inspire you to get craftsy and create things to help decorate a home you love.

Happy Crafting!
