Framed Mini Egg Wreath

You are here: Home / Budget-Friendly / Framed Mini Egg Wreath

Hello Sweet Friends,
I’m here with another super-easy spring craft for you. Well, mostly easy, I think. I’ve created a little framed mini egg wreath that is perfect for both spring and Easter decor. Also, it’s neutral and has sort of a farmhouse vibe. I hope you like it as much as I do! Let’s get to it!

Supplies needed

  • wooden frame 5 X 7
  • chicken wire
  • mini eggs
  • twine
  • ribbon, felt, or fabric
  • wire cutters
  • scissors
  • glue gun
  • staple gun
  • one piece of 18 or 20 gauge wire
Frame found at Walmart and mini eggs from Amazon, see link at end of post.

Begin this project by removing the backing and glass from the picture frame. Then, with wire cutters, cut a piece of chicken wire to fit the empty frame. Wear good work gloves when working with the chicken wire.

Attach the chicken wire to the back of the wooden frame with a staple gun.

Using a glue gun, cover the raw edges of the chicken wire with ribbon, fabric, or felt cut into strips.

Add 12 of the mini eggs to a heavy wire (18 or 20 gauge); running the wire through the eggs like a “needle”. Snip the ends of the wire and shape into a wreath. Dab a small amount of glue to one of the ends and glue together with short ends of wire poked into the opposite egg.

Add a small twine bow with dab of hot glue. Then attach the egg wreath to chicken wire with small wire or glue. And the project is COMPLETE!

I’m so THRILLED with how this looks! And it was really easy to make. (Maybe with the exception of handling the chicken wire). I think this looks perfect with FARMHOUSE decor! Add it to a tiered tray, vignette, shelf, or gallery wall. The uses are endless! Where would you display this in your home?

I hope I’ve inspired you to get creative with your home decor this spring and hope to see you again for the next craft idea!

Happy Crafting!

Pamela

Meet Pamela, the Creator

Pamela, Creator

Born and raised in rural, Missouri, I'm a wife of 30 years and mother to one adult son.

My interest in all things artsy-craftsy began as a young girl. If there was a craft kit for it, I've probably tried it: paint-by-number, latch-hooking rugs, candle-making, shrinky-dinks, string-art, etc. I loved them all! For many years I was able to express my creativity on-the-job as a florist, and love using silk florals in my home decorating projects.

I'm excited to share my crafting and home decorating ideas with you. I like finding that perfect thrift store item and crafting something new out of it, or giving that old piece of furniture a new life with a fresh coat of paint. I hope my projects will inspire you to get craftsy and create things to help decorate a home you love.

Happy Crafting!
