Hello Sweet Friends,
It’s time for another Dollar Tree craft project. For today’s DIY project, I will be showing you how to create a mini Valentine tree with a spindle base. And to keep it budget-friendly, this DIY uses mostly Dollar Tree supplies.
Some people like to keep their Christmas tree up all year, and just switch out the decorations for each season. If you’re not one of those people, but still like to have a few decorations out for Valentines Day, then this is the perfect craft for you!
So follow along for the supply list and step-by step instructions to create this cute little tree.
Supply list
- Dollar Tree Valentine mini tree
- spindle
- tumbling blocks (8) from Dollar Tree
- white paint
- brown paint or antique wax
- paint brush
- glue gun
- E6000 glue
- embellishments and ribbon for tree
The first step for this DIY was to create a base for the tree. I made this out of the Dollar Tree tumbling blocks which are similar to Jenga blocks. Using small amounts of E6000 glue, I put eight of the blocks together as pictured above.
Once the glue had dried, I painted the base and the spindle with Waverly chalk paint in the color plaster. And then blotted both with a little bit of Waverly antique wax to give them both an aged look.
Then I fluffed out the mini tree and glued it into a pre-drilled hole in the spindle. Thanks, Hubby! The tree looks a little Charlie Brown-ish but I will soon be taking care of that!
Decorating the Mini Valentine Tree
Using some Dollar Tree red roses, I glued them onto the branches of the tree.
And what would a Valentine tree be without some hearts?
And some ribbons……
The mini hearts and mini ribbons were both simply glued directly onto the tree branches.
And I simply LOVE how this little tree turned out!
It’s such a sweet little decor piece for Valentine’s Day. And it takes up so little space in your home.
