Hello Sweet Friends,
It’s been a while since I’ve shared a new DIY project with you. So with Easter fast approaching, I am sharing an Easter egg pedestal craft idea with you. It was created using supplies from mostly Dollar Tree and Walmart, so it is a very budget-friendly project.
It was super EASY to create and I think it turned out AMAZING. I hope that you like is as much as I do.
So without further delay, let’s get into it!
Supplies needed
- Dollar Tree Plus decorative Easter egg
- candlestick (mine was thrifted)
- white chalk paint
- antique wax
- hot glue gun
- E6000
- ribbon and embellishment

As you can see in the above photo, my Easter egg was yellow when I purchased it. So my first order of business was to paint it a more neutral color. Waverly chalk paint to the rescue! I used two coats of the color plaster, with dry time in between. I made sure to get into all of the tiny little crevices.

Then I moved onto the candlestick and gave it a couple of coats of the same chalk paint, allowing it to dry between coats.

To give the egg and candlestick a more aged/vintage look, I dry brushed them both with some of the antique wax. To achieve this, I dipped my paintbrush into the antique wax and dabbed most of it off onto a paper plate. This left only a small amount on the brush.

After all of the paint and wax had dried, it was time to glue the egg to the candlestick. I used hot glue and E6000 both for a secure hold.

At this point, the Easter egg pedestal is nearly finished! A little embellishment is all that is needed. So I tied a very simple, neutral bow, dovetailing the streamers.

Glueing the bow, along with a decorative button, completes this project.

Look how PRETTY this turned out! Very elegant and timeless.

Here’s a few more staged photos for you to see.

This project was literally so EASY! I want to make a bunch of them with different heights and colors. The sky is the limit!

I hope I’ve inspired you to give this DIY idea a try. It’s so EASY and budget-friendly, what have you got to lose?
Until next time……
Happy Crafting! and Happy Easter!
Pamela
