Make Cupcake Liner Christmas Trees

You are here: Home / Christmas/Winter / Make Cupcake Liner Christmas Trees

Hello Sweet Friends,

I’ve got another FUN Christmas craft for you today! I’ll be showing you how to make cupcake liner Christmas trees. If you missed my previous post also featuring cupcake liners, you can read it here.

Crafting may not be the first thing you think of when you look at cupcake liners, but you can make some pretty darn CUTE projects with them. I hope you like this idea as much as I do.

Follow along for the simple instructions on how to make these peppermint cupcake liner Christmas trees.

Supply list

  • cupcake liners, the ones I used had a peppermint design
  • paper cone or make a cone out of poster board
  • scissors
  • glue gun

I didn’t have any paper cones, so I made my own out of poster board. After tracing a pizza pan and a plate, I cut them out. Then I cut 1/4 wedge out of each circle, rolling and taping it, to create my cones.

Once I had a paper cone, I was ready to begin. I cut the center part out of each cupcake liner, leaving only the “ruffled” sides. One by one, I began gluing each liner to the paper cone starting at the base and gluing it around.

When I got to the end of one cupcake liner, I added the next. I continued gluing around and up the paper cone, adding the cupcake liners as I went.

I would estimated that I used 18-20 cupcake wrappers for the tall Christmas tree. So I just kept adding, row after row, until I got to the top of the tree.

At the very top of the tree, I had to cut the wrapper off a little and glue the very tip, sort of squeezing is into place.

Didn’t these little Christmas trees turn out CUTE? They were so SIMPLE and FUN to create. I ended up making three different sizes, but I could have made more.

Seriously, this was one of the easiest DIY’s I have made in a while, also with a minimal number of supplies. I think I would like to make some white trees like these (for next year maybe). They could be made in any color to match any decor.

I hope that you are inspired to get creative and make some little cupcake liner Christmas trees for your home.

Until next time.

Meet Pamela, the Creator

Pamela, Creator

Born and raised in rural, Missouri, I'm a wife of 30 years and mother to one adult son.

My interest in all things artsy-craftsy began as a young girl. If there was a craft kit for it, I've probably tried it: paint-by-number, latch-hooking rugs, candle-making, shrinky-dinks, string-art, etc. I loved them all! For many years I was able to express my creativity on-the-job as a florist, and love using silk florals in my home decorating projects.

I'm excited to share my crafting and home decorating ideas with you. I like finding that perfect thrift store item and crafting something new out of it, or giving that old piece of furniture a new life with a fresh coat of paint. I hope my projects will inspire you to get craftsy and create things to help decorate a home you love.

Happy Crafting!
