Nativity Centerpiece DIY

You are here: Home / Budget-Friendly / Nativity Centerpiece DIY

Hello Sweet Friends,

I have a beautiful centerpiece DIY for you today that I think you are going to love. It uses a nativity figurine in the center surrounded by silk Christmas florals. It is a very simple, yet elegant style that can be easily modified to match your holiday decor. So without delay, grab your favorite beverage, put on some Christmas music and follow along to see how easy it is to create this centerpiece.

Supplies needed for centerpiece DIY

  • Nativity figurine
  • block of foam
  • small plate
  • assorted Christmas picks, foliage, berries, etc (10-12 stems depending on the size)
  • glue gun, scissors, wire cutters
The plate and foam are from Dollar Tree. The nativity is from Walmart.
Most of the stems and picks are from Dollar Tree and Walmart.

Begin the centerpiece by glueing the block of foam onto the plate, making sure it is as level as possible. Then glue the figurine onto the top of the block of foam.

The figurine I am using was fairly inexpensive, so it didn’t bother me glueing it to the foam. (But if you have a valuable piece you might want to reconsider; you would not want to damage it with the hot glue)

Using the largest floral stems or picks first, cut the stems down to a few inches length and start adding to the foam. As you can see below, I arranged the four large picks around the nativity at the base near the plate.

After trimming the stems with wire cutters, keep adding stems of foliage around the base and to the sides of the nativity. Try to make sure the stems are pointed outward rather than upward, so as not to obscure the nativity.

The white eucalyptus stems had to separated into smaller individual stems before adding to the centerpiece.

Stems of berries were added last. I covered any foam that was showing with pieces of white flocked tinsel garland. The back of the block of foam should be covered with either moss, a piece of ribbon, etc to finish it.

It really isn’t a difficult arrangement to create. And any substitutions can be made for the florals; just get creative and have fun with it.

I really LOVE how the finished centerpiece looks! Very serene with all of the white florals surrounding the nativity. What do you think?

I hope I’ve inspired you to create something beautiful for your home.

Wishing you a Blessed Christmas!

Happy Crafting!

Pamela

Meet Pamela, the Creator

Pamela, Creator

Born and raised in rural, Missouri, I'm a wife of 30 years and mother to one adult son.

My interest in all things artsy-craftsy began as a young girl. If there was a craft kit for it, I've probably tried it: paint-by-number, latch-hooking rugs, candle-making, shrinky-dinks, string-art, etc. I loved them all! For many years I was able to express my creativity on-the-job as a florist, and love using silk florals in my home decorating projects.

I'm excited to share my crafting and home decorating ideas with you. I like finding that perfect thrift store item and crafting something new out of it, or giving that old piece of furniture a new life with a fresh coat of paint. I hope my projects will inspire you to get craftsy and create things to help decorate a home you love.

Happy Crafting!
