Hello Sweet Friends,
For today’s craft idea, I will be showing you how to create New Years vintage clock ornaments. It’s a fairly simple project using round wooden discs of various sizes and some free vintage printable clock faces.
I normally leave my Christmas tree up until the new year before I start thinking about taking it down. This year, however, I decided to try something a little different; I transitioned my Christmas tree into a New Year’s tree. And these vintage clock ornaments are one of the main things that helped me with that.
Besides the tree, I also added the vintage clock ornaments to a wreath, a few vignettes, and a dough bowl arrangement. They really are very versatile and budget-friendly. I hope you like this idea as much as I do.
Follow along for the DIY instructions.
Supply list
- wood circles/discs, can be found at any craft store
- vintage clock face printables
- scissors
- Mod Podge and paint brush
- gold and/or silver glitter
- ribbon or cord to hang with
I found FREE printables of the vintage clock faces online. Here is the link if you would like to use the images too.
The first step was to print up the images; I tried to make sure they were the right size to fit the wood circles. Once printed, then I cut the clock faces out.
Then I simply used Mod Podge to attach the images to the wood circles. Afterwards, I applied some more Mod Podge around the perimeter of the circle and added glitter. Once everything was dry, I glued a loop of ribbon onto the ornament to use as a hanger.
And BAM, the ornaments were now ready to use! Can you believe how easy that was?
I added some to my Christmas tree; see pictures below.
Didn’t they turn out super CUTE? I just love how you can pop them into just about any vignette or display and they LOOK fabulous!
The clock showing midnight for the time is especially PERFECT for New Year’s Eve.
This project really is super EASY, so I hope you’re inspired to give it a try!
Until next time.
Happy Crafting!
