Hello Friends,
I’m sharing a DIY project with you today which will be perfect to add to your patriotic decor for the Fourth of July holiday and beyond. Dollar Tree has scarves for just about every season, and the summer scarves available there include some patriotic patterns/colors. So I grabbed a few scarves and a willow wreath and decided to create a patriotic wreath out of them. Follow along for the easy-as-apple-pie directions.
Supply list
- willow wreath
- 3 patriotic scarves
- faux floral and greenery
- glue gun
- wire or zip ties, optional
Begin with one end of the scarf and secure to the wreath with a little hot glue. Loosely wind the scarf around the wreath and secure the other end with some hot glue.
Repeat the same steps with a second scarf. When you are finished, the wreath will be completely covered with the scarves.
Tie the third scarf into a very loose bow (sort of like you tie shoe laces). I had to re-tie my bow two or three times to get the “tails” the same length. Glue the scarf bow to the wreath by glueing in the center and also the two loops.
Add your choice of faux florals and greenery using hot glue. You can also use a zip tie or wire to secure in place.
How stinkin’ CUTE is this wreath? And it was so EASY to create! I tilted my wreath to the side a little to display it and I just love it.
It looks GREAT alone or nestled into a vignette.
I hope I’ve inspired you to create one for your home.
