Hello Sweet Friends,
Along with autumn, pumpkin spice season will soon be upon us. I’ve been seeing some fall decor and craft supplies out in stores now, including this cute little pumpkin spice sign from the Dollar Tree.
I thought the sign was really cute for my coffee bar, but I just couldn’t resist the urge to dress it up a little bit first. So grab a cup of coffee and follow along to see the transformation!
Items used for Dollar Tree sign makeover
- pumpkin spice sign from DT
- 7 large paint sticks (5 gallon sticks come in packs of three at Walmart)
- mini pumpkins and florals from DT and Walmart
- glue gun and E6000 glue
- saw to cut the paint sticks
I began by cutting the paint sticks to size; ok, I had my hubby cut them for me. I pre-measured to make sure there was about an inch or so around the perimeter of the Dollar Tree sign.
Using a combination of hot glue and E6000, I attached the paint sticks together with the leftover pieces glued at intervals along the back of the sign.
Again, using hot glue and E6000, I attached the pumpkin spice sign to the paint stick sign. I use both kinds of glue because the hot glue will be a more immediate hold, but the E6000 will be a more long-lasting and stronger hold. That way I can continue working on the sign right away.
I glued the florals and accessories beginning with the longer, wispier florals; then moved onto the larger florals.
Mini pumpkins and bittersweet were the final touches.
I also glued a length of twine onto the back as a hanger. (Didn’t get a picture of that, oops!)
I am thrilled with how this looks near my coffee bar. I don’t know about you but I’m so ready for the first cup of coffee with pumpkin spice creamer!
I hope I’ve given you inspiration to get CRAFTSY and create something beautiful for your home.
