Hello Sweet Friends,
Today’s DIY idea is an easy New Year’s wreath created using dollar store supplies. You may recall that I have a similar faux fur Christmas wreath here on the blog; and this one is just as EASY to create.
Whether you decorate for New Year’s eve or not, this little DIY is very budget-friendly, so it won’t break the bank. The supplies used in this craft idea were from Dollar Tree, Dollar General, and Walmart; and it should be easy for you to recreate. So let’s get to it.
Supply list
- 9.8 inch wreath form from Dollar Tree
- black faux fur muffler from DT
- gold number candles from Dollar General
- gold ribbon
- few gold ornament balls
- gold faux foliage
- glue gun
- scissors
The first step for this project is to cover the wreath form with the faux fur muffler (or I would call it an infinity scarf). After removing all of the tags from the wreath form and scarf, place the wreath inside the scarf as pictured below. Begin gluing the scarf to the wreath form until it completely covered.
After removing the number candles from the packaging, cut off the wick and little wood pick at the base. Then glue the candles to the top of the wreath.
Next up is tying a bow for the base of the wreath. I used some ribbon I got at Walmart, but any gold ribbon would work. After the ribbon is tied, glue it to the base of the wreath.
And to finish the wreath, glue some plastic gold ball ornaments and gold foliage to the bow. And, BAM, you’ve got yourself a quick and easy New Year’s wreath!
Didn’t this turn out SUPER cute?
I see quite a few New Year’s Eve decor/supplies in this same color scheme; black, gold, silver, etc. So that’s why I chose these colors for my wreath. But this DIY could be easily adapted into any color scheme. Instead of using the faux fur scarf, ribbon could be wrapped around the wreath.
I hope you have enjoyed this little tutorial for a quick and easy New Year’s wreath and are able to adapt this to create something beautiful for your home.
Until next time…… Happy Crafting!
Pamela
