Quick, Easy, and Budget-friendly Gift Idea

For today’s DIY idea, I will show you a quick, easy and budget-friendly gift idea using items from Dollar Tree. This is such a CUTE idea, although it’s not technically a craft. For $5 or less you can put together a really nice gift; so nice in fact, that no one will believe it is from Dollar Tree.

I’ll be showing you a Christmas-themed gift, but this idea could be tweaked a little and be perfect for any time of the year. So let’s get started.

Supply list

• Dollar Tree Christmas mug
• tissue paper or filler, optional
• pair of DT gloves
• package of hot cocoa mix
• DT ornament
• two candy canes
• roll of cellophane
• curly ribbon bow or other bow
• sprig of faux holly
• scissors

Let’s get started

To start this DIY gift idea, I placed a little red tissue in the bottom of the mug. If you use a smaller mug then this step may not be necessary. This snowman mug was a little on the large side, so the tissue helped fill in the bottom.

Next, I added the gloves. I tried to find red gloves at my local Dollar Tree, but had to settle for the white ones.

A packet of Swiss Miss hot cocoa mix was added next. It was also from Dollar Tree; it came in a box of four packets.

A cute little DT snowflake ornament was added next. I thought the snowflake went well with the snowman mug.

And of course a little sprig of faux holly was added.

Then a few candy canes really finished the look nicely. You could really add any item that you want. This is just to give you an idea, then you make your own version of it.

Wrapping up the budget-friendly gift idea

The only thing left to do was to wrap it up! So I cut a piece of cellophane off of the roll and carefully wrapped the mug.

And I topped it off with a DT curly ribbon bow. How cute did this turn out? Awesomely CUTE, I say!
