Thanksgiving Greeting Card DIY Canvas

You are here: Home / Autumn / Thanksgiving Greeting Card DIY Canvas

Hello Friends,

I have another quick DIY using a greeting card I thought I would share with you today. This time instead of using a picture frame, I used an 8 X 10 canvas. This is one of those craft ideas that you can probably use items from your craft stash. So let’s get to it!

Items needed for Greeting Card Canvas DIY

  • Greeting Card, Thanksgiving
  • 8 X 10 canvas
  • orange paint and antique wax
  • ribbon and accessories to match
  • glue gun

I purchased the card and canvas both from Dollar Tree.

To being this DIY, I painted the canvas with Waverly pumpkin chalk paint.

After the paint was dry, I dry brushed some Waverly antique wax, for a rustic look.

I cut the front of the card from the back, making sure to keep the cut line as straight as possible.

I then glued the card front and some coordinating ribbon onto the canvas.

The final step is to glue the accessories onto the canvas. I used a couple fall leaves and berries to finish mine. Yes, it really is that quick and easy!

I just love how this turned out. This could be used on a shelf, window sill, etc. I hope I’ve inspired you to create something like this for yourself. You could create one for every holiday!

Happy Crafting!

Pamela

Meet Pamela, the Creator

Pamela, Creator

Born and raised in rural, Missouri, I'm a wife of 30 years and mother to one adult son.

My interest in all things artsy-craftsy began as a young girl. If there was a craft kit for it, I've probably tried it: paint-by-number, latch-hooking rugs, candle-making, shrinky-dinks, string-art, etc. I loved them all! For many years I was able to express my creativity on-the-job as a florist, and love using silk florals in my home decorating projects.

I'm excited to share my crafting and home decorating ideas with you. I like finding that perfect thrift store item and crafting something new out of it, or giving that old piece of furniture a new life with a fresh coat of paint. I hope my projects will inspire you to get craftsy and create things to help decorate a home you love.

Happy Crafting!
