Decorate a Small Front Porch for Fall

You are here: Home / Autumn / Decorate a Small Front Porch for Fall

Hello Sweet Friends,
It’s that time of year again; the leaves are falling, the air is cooler, and the days are shorter. I always love to decorate my small front porch for the fall season and this year is no exception. So I thought I would share my decor ideas with you.

Using a combination of decor old and new, I transform my small front porch into a welcoming entry to my home. Enjoy!

Decor items for a small Front Porch for Fall

  • Wreath for the front door
  • mums
  • pumpkins
  • rug
  • any other fall decor you love! There are no set rules!

It’s always a good idea to start with a clean slate, so I cleaned the door and light fixtures, and swept the porch.

I began with some fall stems added to my fern pots. My front porch is north-facing front and I find that ferns do very well in the summertime, so I transition them into my fall decor. I don’t recall where I got these stems but have used them for several years.

Next, add some “mum plants”. This year, I chose to create faux mums using some beautiful stems I got from Amazon. They are fade-resistant and look fantastic. And best of all, I don’t have to remember to water them. Affiliate link here: https://amzn.to/46nrDLW

Always add a cute rug or two for a splash of color! Affiliate links for both rugs are here: fall rug and checked rug.

Add a few or more pumpkins; I got my from my local Walmart store.

A fall wreath added to the front door makes for a cozy entrance; mine is also a Walmart find from a few years ago.

And I really like to decorate the front porch light fixtures as well. These bows are made from Dollar Tree ribbon and burlap leaves.

Altogether it makes a super CUTE front porch for the fall season.

Meet Pamela, the Creator

Pamela, Creator

Born and raised in rural, Missouri, I'm a wife of 30 years and mother to one adult son.

My interest in all things artsy-craftsy began as a young girl. If there was a craft kit for it, I've probably tried it: paint-by-number, latch-hooking rugs, candle-making, shrinky-dinks, string-art, etc. I loved them all! For many years I was able to express my creativity on-the-job as a florist, and love using silk florals in my home decorating projects.

I'm excited to share my crafting and home decorating ideas with you. I like finding that perfect thrift store item and crafting something new out of it, or giving that old piece of furniture a new life with a fresh coat of paint. I hope my projects will inspire you to get craftsy and create things to help decorate a home you love.

Happy Crafting!
