Hello Sweet Friends,
Some people will leave their Christmas tree up and transform it into a dazzling Valentine-themed tree for the season. I haven’t yet tried this but decided that a tabletop Valentine-themed tree would be a good alternative. I had one of those white mini Dollar Tree Christmas trees left over after Christmas and decided to create a tabletop Valentine’s tree. Follow along to see what I created with supplies I had on hand.
Supplies needed for mini Valentine Tree
- Dollar Tree White Mini Christmas Tree
- variety of red, white, valentine ribbons
- small bucket container
- small piece of foam
- glue gun, scissors
- embellishment for treetop
Begin the Valentine tree by spreading all of the branches of the tree straight and flat so it can lay flat on the work surface.
Cut lengths of multiple ribbons to be tied onto the “trunk” of the tree.
Begin tying the pieces of ribbon starting at the bottom of the tree and working upward.
There should be five or six different ribbons tied between each row of branches.
Keep working your way up to the top of the tree, tying pieces of ribbons between each row of branches.
Glue a piece of foam into a small container and place tree into the center.
The tree will look like a hot mess but not for long. Begin shaping the branches and ribbons into a downswept shape. Trim the wider ribbons into a dovetail if desired. Glue an embellishment onto the top of the tree.
How stinkin’ CUTE is this little tree? It was so quick and easy to put together and it will be perfect for my kitchen counter. I hope I’ve inspired you to create one for your home.
Happy Crafting!
XOXO
Pamela
