Easter DIY Decor Using a Napkin

You are here: Home / Budget-Friendly / Easter DIY Decor Using a Napkin

Hello Sweet Friends,

I have a super CUTE Easter DIY decor idea for you today; it uses a cute little bunny napkin. Using napkins and Mod Podge has become very popular for DIY decor projects like this one. Napkins are such an easy and inexpensive way to add a little EXTRA to anything.

Last year, I bought a metal wall pocket/bucket on clearance, but at the time I didn’t have any idea what I was going to do with it. I finally decided to make a Spring/Easter decor piece out of it. So follow along and see just what steps I took to create this beautiful piece of spring decor.

Supply list

  • metal wall pocket/bucket or other container
  • white chalk paint and brush
  • Mod Podge
  • paper napkin with bunny image
  • scissors
  • wire cutters
  • floral foam
  • faux florals and foliage
  • mini Easter eggs
  • skewer sticks
  • glue gun
  • ribbon
  • wire

I found this beauty on clearance at a local farm and home store, but wasn’t sure about the color or image on it. But I knew I could use it for a future craft project. Well, it’s time has come…

The first step was to give it a couple coats of white (or off-white) paint. I used Waverly plaster chalk paint and let it dry thoroughly between coats.

Then I cut the bunny shape from the napkin and peeled off the back layer.

Then I applied a coat of Mod Podge to the wall pocket and pressed the napkin piece onto it.

Afterward, I topped it with another coat of Mod Podge.

Once the Mod Podge was dry, I cut a block of floral foam to size and glued it into the wall pocket.

Before adding the faux floral and foliage stems, I cut them into individual stems with wire cutters. To add the mini Easter eggs, I glued wooden skewers into them and inserted them into the foam with the floral and foliage stems.

Lastly, I added a neutral bow for the final embellishment.

How CUTE is the final Easter decor piece?? I just LOVE how it turned out!

This project was very EASY to create and this idea can be used to in so many different ways. I hope I’ve inspired you to try using napkins in your next craft project.

Until next time…

Happy Crafting!

Meet Pamela, the Creator

Pamela, Creator

Born and raised in rural, Missouri, I'm a wife of 30 years and mother to one adult son.

My interest in all things artsy-craftsy began as a young girl. If there was a craft kit for it, I've probably tried it: paint-by-number, latch-hooking rugs, candle-making, shrinky-dinks, string-art, etc. I loved them all! For many years I was able to express my creativity on-the-job as a florist, and love using silk florals in my home decorating projects.

I'm excited to share my crafting and home decorating ideas with you. I like finding that perfect thrift store item and crafting something new out of it, or giving that old piece of furniture a new life with a fresh coat of paint. I hope my projects will inspire you to get craftsy and create things to help decorate a home you love.

Happy Crafting!
