Quick and Easy Fall Craft

You are here: Home / Autumn / Quick and Easy Fall Craft

Hello Friends,

Just poppin’ on here to share a quick and easy fall craft. Besides being quick and easy, this project is also VERY budget-friendly. You know how I LOVE my Dollar Tree crafts!

This craft idea features a DT galvanized metal bottle cap and a fall napkin. Just add some paint, Mod Podge, and a few embellishments, and vòila, you’ve got yourself some super CUTE fall decor for your home.

Gather round my craft table and I’ll show you just how EASY it is to create this piece.

Supply list

  • Dollar Tree galvanized metal bottle cap
  • fall napkin
  • fall embellishment – fall leaf, raffia, etc.
  • Waverly chalk paint, color plaster
  • Mod Podge
  • paint brush
  • scissors
  • glue gun

I started this project by removing the little twine hanger and then giving it a coat of off-white paint. Almost any time you want to add a paper napkin to something, it’s a good idea to start with a coat of white paint as a base.

While the two coats of paint were drying, I cut the image on the napkin to fit the bottle cap and then carefully removed the bottom layer of the napkin.

Then I added the napkin to the bottle cap with liberal amount Mod Podge. After drying, I added a top coat of Mod Podge to the whole thing.

(I didn’t get as many pictures of the this project as I went along, so I hope the written instructions will do. My apologies for that.)

Adding some embellishment was the final step. So I glued a small raffia bow, some small berries, and a faux mini sunflower, to finish it! (Oops, I left out the step where I glued a twine loop on the back for hanging.)

Look how CUTE it turned out!! Such a sweet little decor piece for FALL. And it was SO EASY!

I can see so many different ways to display the fall bottle cap. It would be so cute sitting on a window sill or suction-cup to a window/mirror. Or used as an ornament on a fall tree. Or add it to a fall wreath. Place it in a tiered tray. The possibilities are endless.

I hope you like this fun little DIY project and will be able to create something similar for your home.

Until next time…

Happy Crafting!
Pamela

Meet Pamela, the Creator

Pamela, Creator

Born and raised in rural, Missouri, I'm a wife of 30 years and mother to one adult son.

My interest in all things artsy-craftsy began as a young girl. If there was a craft kit for it, I've probably tried it: paint-by-number, latch-hooking rugs, candle-making, shrinky-dinks, string-art, etc. I loved them all! For many years I was able to express my creativity on-the-job as a florist, and love using silk florals in my home decorating projects.

I'm excited to share my crafting and home decorating ideas with you. I like finding that perfect thrift store item and crafting something new out of it, or giving that old piece of furniture a new life with a fresh coat of paint. I hope my projects will inspire you to get craftsy and create things to help decorate a home you love.

Happy Crafting!
