Hello Sweet Friends,
Easter will soon be upon us, and I have a super CUTE and EASY craft idea for you. Today I will be showing you how to create Easter egg flowers and attach them to a Dollar Tree trellis for a super cute porch decor idea.

If you have been following me for a while, you may remember my Easter egg flower wreath idea and my Easter egg garland idea. Can you tell I just love using colorful Easter eggs in my craft ideas? I’ve used all three ideas for my porch decor this year. (I’ll include a photo at the end of this post for you to see.)

Follow along for the simple instructions for creating your own Easter egg flowers for your home decor this Easter.

Supply list

  • six 6-packs of the larger plastic Easter eggs from Dollar Tree
  • Dollar Tree trellis
  • Easter grass (optional)
  • 1 roll Dollar Tree ribbon
  • Glue gun
  • wire (optional)
  • faux foliage and pot (for porch decor)

Plug in your glue gun and let’s get started. To start you will need to separate all of the eggs into colors; you will have six of each color and one yellow egg for the center. So when you finish you will have a total of five Easter egg flowers.

Before I started glueing the eggs together, I ran a wire through the bottom of each yellow “center” egg. I did this first so that the wire could be used to attach the finished flowers to the trellis. Here is my affiliate link for the wire that I used.

After the yellow eggs have had wire added, the next step is to glue the egg flowers together. I used a paper plate underneath to catch any glue drips and it also helped to keep the shape of the flowers. You may have to hold each egg in place for a little bit until the glue is set.

Keep repeating these steps until all five flowers are together.

Once the glue was dry/cool, I arranged the flowers onto the trellis in a pleasing manner.

When I found an arrangement I liked I began wiring the flowers onto the trellis. So one at a time I attached them to the trellis, leaving the center flower for last, since it slightly overlapped the others.

The flowers were a little floppy, so I also spot-glued them to the trellis This helped secure them in place.

Then I attached the final center flower onto the trellis by wiring and glueing as well. Then snipped off all of the excess wire.

The back of the trellis was quite the hot mess, so I glued some Easter grass to help cover it up. I also glued some of the grass in between the egg flowers.

And I thought this project turned out pretty darn CUTE! Now I just needed to add to my pot out on the front proch.

Oops! I took this photo before adding the Easter grass.

Adding the Easter egg flowers to my porch pots

I tied a bow with some Dollar Tree ribbon and had a faux fern. I added them to my pot along with the Easter egg flower trellis and it really made a cute and colorful display for my porch.

And here is a picture of the complete porch display that I promised.

Isn’t this SUPER cute and eye-catching! I’m swooning……
Here are my affiliate links for the green rug and the Easter rug, if you are interested.

I hope this project has inspired you to create something similar for your home decor this Easter.

Until next time…….. Happy crafting!

Meet Pamela, the Creator

Pamela, Creator

Born and raised in rural, Missouri, I'm a wife of 30 years and mother to one adult son.

My interest in all things artsy-craftsy began as a young girl. If there was a craft kit for it, I've probably tried it: paint-by-number, latch-hooking rugs, candle-making, shrinky-dinks, string-art, etc. I loved them all! For many years I was able to express my creativity on-the-job as a florist, and love using silk florals in my home decorating projects.

I'm excited to share my crafting and home decorating ideas with you. I like finding that perfect thrift store item and crafting something new out of it, or giving that old piece of furniture a new life with a fresh coat of paint. I hope my projects will inspire you to get craftsy and create things to help decorate a home you love.

Happy Crafting!
